01 Who we are
SatyaVani ("we", "us", "the app") is a mobile application offering spiritual and psychological wisdom drawn from Indian scriptures, including an AI companion feature called Sakha. This policy applies to the SatyaVani Android app and this website.

02 Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account.
- Profile preferences. Your language preference, age range, and the role you identify with — used to tailor what the app shows you.
- Your conversations with Sakha. The messages you send to the Sakha AI companion, so it can respond and remember context you've chosen to share.
Information created as you use the app
- Activity. Shlokas you read, talks you listen to, practices you begin, and your daily streak — to power features like your journey and personalised recommendations.
- Reflections Sakha remembers. To be a useful companion, Sakha may note themes from your conversations (for example, that a particular topic weighs on you). You can view and delete these at any time inside the app.
- Purchase records. When you buy a subscription or credits, we receive confirmation of the purchase from Google Play. We never see or store your card, UPI, or bank details — those are handled entirely by Google Play.
Information collected automatically
- Device and diagnostic data. Basic device type, app version, and crash or performance data, to keep the app working and fix problems.
- Notification token. If you allow notifications, a token that lets us send you daily wisdom, festival reminders, and gentle streak nudges.
- Advertising ID. Google’s advertising identifier, used by our ads provider (Google AdMob) to show and measure ads. You can reset or limit it anytime in your device settings.
03 How we use your information
- To provide the app's features — the library, the daily quote, Sakha, sadhana, and your personal journey.
- To personalise what you see, so the wisdom offered meets where you actually are.
- To process subscriptions and credit purchases through Google Play.
- To send notifications you've opted into, and to let you turn them off.
- To keep the app secure, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
We do not sell your personal information, and we never will. SatyaVani does show ads through Google AdMob (see “Advertising” below); apart from the advertising ID used to serve those ads, we don’t share your data with third parties to track you across other apps.
04 The AI companion (Sakha)
Sakha uses trusted AI services to understand your messages and craft thoughtful responses grounded in scripture. To do this, the content of your message may be sent securely to these processing services (such as OpenAI and Cohere) at the moment you send it.
These providers process your message to generate a reply and, under their terms, do not use it to train their models. Sakha is a source of reflection and comfort — it is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or crisis care. If you are in distress, please reach out to a qualified professional or a helpline.
05 Advertising
SatyaVani shows ads through Google AdMob, Google’s mobile advertising service. To display and measure ads, AdMob may access your device’s advertising ID along with limited device and ad-interaction data. Serving and measuring these ads is the only purpose for which this data is used.
You can reset your advertising ID or turn off ad personalisation at any time in your device’s Settings → Google → Ads. For how Google handles this data, see the Google advertising policy.
06 Services we rely on
We build on established platforms so your data is handled to a high standard:
- Google Firebase — secure sign-in, database, storage, and notifications.
- Google Play Billing & RevenueCat — to process and manage purchases. Payment details never reach us.
- Google AdMob — to display ads in the app; may use your advertising ID as described under “Advertising.”
- AI processing partners — to power Sakha, as described above.
Each provider maintains its own privacy protections. Because these are global services, some information may be processed on servers outside India, always under appropriate safeguards.
07 How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. The reflections Sakha remembers are managed to stay relevant and are periodically cleared. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information from our active systems, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal or accounting obligations.
08 Your choices and rights
- See and delete what Sakha remembers — directly in the app, any time.
- Turn notifications on or off — in the app or your device settings.
- Delete your account — request it directly in the app (Profile → Delete Account) or via our account deletion form. We remove your personal data from our active systems, and you can also email support.satyavani@gmail.com for help.
- Access or correct your information — contact us and we'll help.
09 Children
SatyaVani is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
10 Security
We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections, authenticated access, and trusted infrastructure — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and work to keep your data safe.
11 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use SatyaVani after a change means you accept the updated policy.
